As policymakers return from summer recess in September, the Senate Agriculture Committee will be reconvening committee members to vote on funding for the farm bill.
I don’t suppose you have data on profit versus just revenue. Not that this negates the problems associated with the farm bill and who is receiving the subsidies, but in my ignorance, I find that to be relevant.
Don’t forget about asset requirements either. When I applied for SNAP in 2013, CA asked about assets and I was glad they did. But then I realized they only used it to determine if you needed immediate help or not, not to use the asset total to disqualify us from the program. Income can be temporarily low for many reasons but savings exist to get through these times.
